Psoriasis levels and its treatment

Despite the unknown etiology of psoriasis and the factors they provoke, the phases of their development are well examined.The classification of psoriasis in the stage facilitates the evaluation of the course of the disease, helps to identify the sensitivity to a certain treatment method and to determine the tactics of patients.

Psoriasis of the initial stage

The stages of psoriasis are classified depending on the type of exacerbation (or activity of the inflammatory process) and the severity.

Stadiums of psoriasis dependent on the tightening

Psoriasis is an illness with 3 levels:

  • progressive;
  • stationary;
  • Declined;
  • Remission.

Symptoms of the progressive stage

This stage is characterized by obvious signs of aggravation.Several rashes appear on the skin and have the shape of red nodules (papules, tubercles) with an oval or rounded shape.They merged and form the herds that occupy a large area, their surface is actively peeling off, the patient at the same time experiences severe itching and sometimes a burning feeling.Itching can be exhausting and disturbing the patient, not only during ordinary life, but also in a dream to intensify when they contact clothes.After delaying the scales, the surface can get wet and turn into a nutrient medium to spread bacteria.

The main manifestations of the progressive level are:

  • The appearance of papules on stretching areas of the limbs and on the body;
  • The fusion of papules in conglomerates ("plaques"), which has a whitish color;
  • Peel the surface of conglomerates;
  • There are no scales in the region of the edges of the plaques, but there is a hyperemic edge;
  • The edges of the plaques are compressed;
  • The presence of a Kebner phenomenon: When mechanical damage (cut, scratch) appears on uninhabited skin, a new psoriatic plaque is formed in its place.

The more intensely the redness of the skin is during the progressive phase, the more active the inflammatory process is.The most dangerous consequence of psoriasis is psoriasis arthritis, while severe joint pain occurs, which are deformed by the joints.

Symptoms of a stationary level

Symptoms of a stationary level

With the start of the inpatient level, the exacerbation process is gradually weakened.At the same time, the papules become pale, they turn red into pink, during this time there are no new rashes.The surface of the nodes has the shape of "plaques", it is tight, covered with a crust that is portrayed by numerous dried skin scales.The nature of the healing of the papules begins from the center to the periphery.The presence of an inpatient stage of psoriasis confirms the effectiveness of the treatment.

The main manifestations of this phase are:

  • Lack of rashes of new papules;
  • Existing plaques stop their growth;
  • The surface of the plaques is covered with scales;
  • The red edge disappears around the scaly plaques;
  • Kebner's phenomenon disappears.

Symptoms of the regression stage

In the stage of regression, the process is involved.The "plaques" are solved and form areas of skin depigmentation.The itching of the skin gradually disappears, the signs of peeling decrease.

Signs of psoriasis regression:

  • There is an edge of Voronov around the plaques (dense ring -reporting wrinkles around psoriasis plaques);
  • Reduction and gradual disappearance of the peeling;
  • At the location of the plaques, areas of depigmentation (white or dark) are formed.

In the regression stage, plaques disappear completely, the remains of plaques are possible in the area: knees, elbows, stomach, buttocks.

Remission

Remission is the stage of obvious relaxation.During the remission, psoriasis is in a "sleeping" state, but does not disappear from the body.Psoriasis remission lasts until the next exacerbation (progressive level).

Stages of psoriasis depending on the area of the lesion

It should be noted that the general condition of a person does not change while tightening the psoriasis, he works to work, into familiar household matters.Psoriasis only gives a person an aesthetic and cosmetic defect: the patient's skin scratches a lot, one person cannot wear open clothing if an tightening is observed in summer, a person cannot visit the pool, massage, cosmetic interventions, etc.

Stages of psoriasis depending on the area of the lesion

The severity of psoriasis also depends on the area of skin lesions.In a light stage, only 3%of the skin surface are affected, with an average - from 3 to 10%and with a severe - more than 10%.Psoriasis that damage the joints belongs to a serious extent.In this case, the area of skin lesions is not taken into account.You can measure the damage area yourself.For this purpose, the rule of the open palm is used (the area of the skin that corresponds to the surface of the human palm is 1% of the total body surface).

Pasi index

The general system for evaluating the severity of psoriasis is evaluated using the PASI index, which includes an evaluation of prevalence and severity as well as the severity of the manifestation of the disease.This indicator is estimated from 0 to 72.At the same time, the light degree of psoriasis has an indicator of less than 10, the average - from 10 to 20, the severe - more than 20th with the Pasi index, the clinical effectiveness of the treatment is also calculated.

In addition to different stages, psoriasis can have different types: seborrhoer, exudative, plantar, intertriginous, old, rupioid, stopped, psoriasis of nails and mucous membranes.It is impossible to heal psoriasis completely, but you can achieve long remission.It is this goal that is pursued with modern treatment methods.
